The Indian robin (Saxicoloides fulicatus) is a species of bird in the Muscicapidae family. It is widespread in the Indian subcontinent. The males are of dark blue color while females are brown of color . They are commonly found in open scrub areas and often seen running along the ground or perching on low thorny shrubs and rocks. Their long tails are held erect and their chestnut undertail covert and dark body make them easily distinguishable from the pied bushchat and the oriental magpie robin. (Pics: Multan, Pakistan)
دھوبن چڑیا جنوبی ایشیا میں پائے جانی والی ایک چھوٹی چڑیا ہے جس کی وجہ سے اسکو ہندی رابن کہا جاتا ہے۔ اس کا نر گہرے نیلے رنگ کا جبکہ مادہ بھورے رنگ کی ہوتی ہے۔ مادہ دھوبن چڑیا بھوری چٹانی چڑیا کی طرح ہوتی ہے لیکن اس کی پہچان یہ ہے کہ دھوبن چڑیا کے دم کے نیچے کا رنگ مالٹا ہوتا ہے۔ یہ زرعی علاقوں میں عام نظر آتی ہے۔
